The Oogie Boogie Bash had officially started, a family of four, dressed up as characters from Toy Story, struggle to take the perfect Instagram worthy family photo. Their toddler runs around in a Woody costume, eager to make his way into the park.
As many may know, most theme parks have Halloween themed events to get community members in a spooky mood. Among those events are Knotts Scary Farm, Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Hollywood. Disneyland has a special Halloween not so scary party, for people of all ages.
The sky was clear, the weather was fresh, it was perfect for an evening at Disneyland California Adventure. Cast Members are dressed in their spooky Oogie Boogie attire, greeting and directing guests to pick up a paper wristband and trick or treat bag. Toddlers, teens, and adults make their way down Buena Vista Street to see what attractions catch their eyes. Parents with young ones made their way to trick or treat trails and meet and greets with Disney villains. Teens approached big rides with 10 to 20 minutes of wait time. Cast members double-check guest’s wristbands making sure Oogie Boogie Bash ticket holders only are in the park.
“My favorite has to be how you can meet some of the villains and see the like the evil side of Disney, not just the princesses,” said former annual pass holder Gil Barrios.
The Oogie Boogie Bash trick or treat trails had buckets filled with all types of candy but also had healthy options such as sliced apples, grapes, and graham crackers throughout every station. The event, having a special something for all, incorporated a Descendents dance party and a specialized Halloween parade and water show.
If Los Angeles and Anaheim locals want to chill, have fun, get into the spooky season but not get scared, then Oogie Boogie Bash is the perfect fit. There will be a special something for everyone in the family. The park appeared to have great Instagram worthy photo locations, delicious food, live music to enjoy, and much more. The Oogie Boogie Bash has customized merch for everyone to buy and enjoy, which included t-shirts, backpacks, hats, lights, and hoodies. The park was also dressed in extra spooky decorations to give the Halloween party that additional not so scary experience.
“The Oogie Boogie Bash is an amazing way to spend quality bonding time with your family,” said junior Amalia Perez. “I would definitely recommend families to attend.”
