On September 27th, Sony and Disney announced their joint agreement authorizing Spider-Man to appear in future MCU films, allowing Marvel Studios to produce a third Spider-Man film with the fan-favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland.

Disney and Sony fostered a partnership where they shared rights to the Spider-Man character in December of 2014. Originally, that deal meant that Disney could use Spider-Man in their Marvel movies franchise, and create stand-alone Spider-Man films.

The corporations were negotiating the rights to the character, focusing primarily upon a financial deal. It appeared that Spider-man would no longer be able to continue being part of the MCU if these companies couldn’t strike a deal.

Finally, the two companies announced that Marvel Studios and its former president, Kevin Feige, will be able to produce the third film in the Spider-Man: Homecoming series.

Junior, Angel Uribe a comic book enthusiast notes, “It’s cool knowing that Spider-Man continues working with MCU since they really help a lot when it comes to making sure these films turn out well.”

The third film in the Spider-Man Homecoming series is scheduled for release on July 16, 2021, with recurring castmates such as Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Zendaya as Michelle Jones.

Junior Logan Evans expressed her excitement for the new upcoming film, “I’m excited to see Tom Holland and his energetic sense of humor in the movie.”

Kevin Feige was excited to know that Spidey’s journey will continue in the MCU. He had said in a statement, “I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it, Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Many Marvel actors had been quite upset when they heard about the potential breakup with Spider-Man and the MCU. Some even took to their social media accounts to ask Sony to bring Spider-Man back to Marvel. Tom Holland himself took to his Instagram account with an NSFW clip of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. “You know what, I’m not leaving, (2x) I’m not (fucking) leaving,” DiCaprio says in the short clip.

Amy Pascal, an American business executive and film producer working with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Co-Chairperson of SPE, has worked with the first two films reacted to the good news… ”Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in ‘Far From Home’ and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”

Yutaka Mahe formal fan expressed his thoughts on our formal neighborhood Spider-Man new upcoming film with MCU, “I mean after that breakup I feel like it hyped up viewers for the new film that’s gonna come up.”

Despite the drama, Spider-Man remains one of the most memorable Marvel characters, and Tom Holland’s portrayal has only boosted its popularity. The fact that Spider-Man is staying in the MCU shines a light on a bright future for the character and the MCU.
